We have the amenities you expect from a Silicon Valley company—gym, café, galley kitchen, Starbucks brewed fresh on site, lush surroundings, private courtyard, 401k with match, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance. But we have one thing they don’t have and that’s Nashville, TN. And they have a few things we don’t—gridlocked traffic, inflated housing market, state income tax, 79% higher cost of living. Do we need to go on?
In fact, compared to the national average, the cost of living in Tennessee is 10% lower and the per capita income is 14% higher. That’s like getting a 24% raise just for moving here. And if you’re coming from a state with income tax, there’s another little bonus for you come April 15.
