The position of Security Engineer is responsible for all physical and information security for Cybera. Daily duties will include monitoring and addressing network, system, and application risks. The Security Engineer also works directly with customers to assist with customer compliance efforts or with security incidents. The Security Engineer also supports and helps ensure Cybera’s compliance. The Security Engineer is also responsible for providing security leadership and expertise to the Cybera Engineering team, providing insight and assistance with various projects as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design security solutions to support Cybera’s platform
- Demonstrate and promote security best practices
- Work with departments to address security issues
- Identifysecurity issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans using various security vulnerability assessment and monitoring tools
- Perform, analyze and assist in remediation regular security and vulnerability assessments
- Assist customers with security compliance requirements
- Advise and consult with network and systems engineers to identify possible risks and implement solutions to remediate issues
- Assist Director with developing and interpretingsecurity policies and procedures
- Evaluate and recommend new and emergingsecurity products and technologies
- Deploy new security technology platforms and assist in maintaining current technologies
- Develop automation and scripts to scale security compliance and remediation at scale
- Work with Vendors and Providers to identify new security threats
- Participate and help leadsecurity compliance efforts
- Participate in incident response for the company and customers
- Participate in projects that develop new intellectual property
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call for security incident response and engineering on-call
- Strong desire to up-skill and self-develop
- All other duties as assigned by Director of Security Architecture
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant experience
- 6+ years experience in the network security or information security fields
- 2+ years in the Service Provider industry
- 3+ years performing network or application vulnerability assessments or audits
- High understanding of various security compliance certifications such as PCI, HIPPA, SAS 70, and SOX
- Highly analytical and proven design skills
- Well skilled in Windows/Linux/Unix
- Deep understanding of scripting and programming
- Knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, IPSec, SSL, BGP and other routing protocols
- Strong knowledge of web services, cloud based solutions and distributed systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and willing to speak to customers
- Some travel may be require
- Experience with Tenable a plus
