What is Cybera ONE?

Answer

Cybera ONE securely hosts applications both in Cybera's cloud and at the customer premise. With Cybera ONE, enterprises are able to quickly and easily deploy remote applications on a single platform that also hosts all of their network security and third party embedded applications. Cybera ONE secures networks and hosts third party applications for many of the world's best known brands and enterprises ranging in size from ten to tens of thousands of locations.

What is Cybera Overlay and how is it different then Cybera ONE?

Answer

Overlay is the name of a specific bundle of services that has been custom designed to meet the requirements of Shell's payment and loyalty applications. Overlay is a Shell service that is only available to Shell-branded stores, and the $79 per month Overlay fee includes components provided by both Cybera and Shell. Overlay begins with a Cybera ONE base security package, and then adds the following Cybera features:

  • A custom VPN network for carrying Shell payment data.
  • A second custom VPN network for carrying Shell loyalty data.
  • A proprietary serial to IP conversion application hosted on the remote SCA appliance.
  • 3G/4G wireless module and service provided for failover in case of failure on the primary Internet connection.
  • Additional Cybera applications can be provided through the Overlay by an end user purchasing these direct from Cybera.

Also included in the Overlay package are features and benefits provided by Shell:

  • Shell payment processing services are provided through the Overlay with no additional charges.
  • Shell loyalty services, such as FRN, are also provided through the Overlay package.
  • Some future Shell apps are planned to be delivered through Overlay.
  • Unlike Coolband, there is no additional monthly application fee to cover the service and support provided by Shell as these support costs are recovered in the single $79 per month fee.

The Cybera ONE SCA-315 appliance is pre-configured before shipping out to your store. With Cybera ONE there is no need to install and integrate with multiple devices. All materials needed for installation will be shipped with the Cybera ONE SCA-315 appliance. Once installed, the Cybera ONE SCA-315 connects to Cybera's secure cloud and pulls down its configuration and can be up and running in less than 20 minutes.

What is required to install Cybera ONE?

Cybera ONE requires any type of high speed DSL or broadband near the point of sale and a power outlet.

Do I need a certain internet speed to use Cybera ONE?

Answer

Any type of high speed DSL or broadband will work with Cybera ONE. A standard dial up connection will not work.

Will my business still be able to process customer payments if the primary internet connection is disrupted?

Answer

As long as you have the 3G/4G wireless built into Cybera ONE, your business receives multi-access failover/failback capabilities that would allow you to conduct business as usual even without your primary internet connection. However, even if you don't have the 3G/4G wireless built into Cybera ONE, your payments won't be lost. The payments will be securely batched and transmitted when the primary connection is restored.

Is there any downtime involved in switching over to Cybera ONE?

We find that customers install our solution at any time during the day. Because storing forward is a function of your Point of Sale (POS) machine, as soon as you connect up to our solution the credit card transactions that have been stored or “cached” during that time will then immediately be sent over via our solution.
