Overview
If geography, technology or budgetary constraints somehow limit SmartNetworkSM broadband access to some of your locations, Cybera SmartLinkSM last-mile access can provide alternative remote site broadband access to those locations. Remote connections made with SmartLink supplement an overall SmartNetwork design, which includes all the features and benefits of the Core and Service components of the SmartNetwork solution. In all implemented solutions the host connection is made using SmartNetwork.
SmartLink access types are selected based on availability and pre-established partner criteria. This ensures the access becoming a part of Cybera’s managed service offering is capable of meeting specific client design requirements and enables Cybera to manage the service in the same way SmartNetwork services are managed. Service Level Agreements associated with SmartLink access types differ based on the access options available and the carrier partner service standards. As with all SmartNetwork solutions a virtual firewall is implemented to utilize the intelligence of the Cybera SmartNetwork core. Cybera’s core MPLS-based network infrastructure allows customers to prioritize certain applications, block certain ports, interface with application providers, and customize the routing of their applications when Internet access or multiple host centers are needed. The SmartLink product is implemented with the following features:
| SmartLink Features |
- Fully Managed – SmartLink connections supplement an overall SmartNetwork design and are fully managed as are all connections within any implemented SmartNetwork solution. In addition SmartLink connections use a statically addressed design allowing Cybera technicians secure remote access to manage each router.
- Professional Installation – As with all sites in a SmartNetwork solution, sites supported by SmartLink access are professionally installed using the same trained technicians and proven processes.
- Secure – Remote sites connected with SmartLink are implemented with 3-DES IPSec UNI-Tunnel security helping eliminate the risks of traditional VPNs.
- Reliability – while the underlying facilities supplied by the service provider are subject to their associated SLAs, Cybera implements enterprise grade network design principles to maximize reliability. DHCP, dynamic routing, and dial backup options are a few of the specific methods used to ensure availability and recoverability.
